Job Description
We're seeking a dependable, hands-on Off-Premise Sign Technician to install, maintain, and repair our growing portfolio of static and digital billboard structures. This role is critical to ensuring our billboard assets remain safe, visible, and visually impactful for advertisers and the communities we serve. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and taking pride in maintaining high-quality signage. Success in this position is measured by quality installations, structural integrity, site cleanliness, and a vision of maintaining maximum visibility for each sign. Job ResponsibilitiesInstallation & Maintenance Install and replace static billboard faces, including vinyl and printed materials. Assist with installation and basic maintenance of digital billboard components. Install brand identification and sign number plates on all billboard structures. Ensure all installations meet company quality and safety standards. Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance or safety issues. Repairs & Structural Work Perform repairs on billboard structures, including wood, steel, and hardware components. Report structural concerns requiring advanced repair. Maintain proper condition of sign faces, frameworks, safety structures, and lighting (if applicable). Ensure all signs remain safe and compliant with Stein Sign Display and DOT regulations. Grounds Maintenance & Visibility Maintain ground conditions around billboard structures, including mowing, trimming, debris removal, and weed control. Manage foliage and obstructions to maximize advertising visibility. Ensure each billboard location presents a clean, professional appearance. Landowner & Site Relations Coordinate with landowners and neighboring property owners to obtain permissions for access and maintenance. Maintain positive relationships with landowners through professional communication. General Operations Travel to multiple billboard locations listed for needing immediate repair Safely operate company vehicles, lifts, ladders, and tools. Follow OSHA safety standards and company policies. Complete repair and maintenance logs as required Assist with additional installation or production tasks as needed. Job Specifications Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Comfortable working at heights and using ladders or lifts. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Attention to detail and commitment to safety. Professional communication skills. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (Required) Valid driver's license with clean driving record (Required) Experience in construction or maintenance (Preferred) Experience operating lifts or bucket trucks (Preferred) Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ pounds Ability to climb, bend, kneel, and work at heights Ability to work outdoors for extended periods Preferred Attributes Strong work ethic and attention to craftsmanship Familiarity with rural and urban job sites
