The Purpose of the role:
Provide maintenance/repair/setup services to plant operations. Utilize skillsets to minimize downtime, maintain safe working environment, and provide technical support where required. Positions are open for day, night, and swing shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lockout / Tagout all equipment before performing repairs or performing preventative maintenance. Inspect equipment and identify components to be replaced while performing repairs and preventative maintenance. Maintains and updates daily log of activities. Cooperate with production to find alternative solutions to long-term equipment problems. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and management.
Performance Standards:
Lockout / Tagout all energy / residual sources preventing injury during repair and/or preventative maintenance. Repair or replace all broken / worn-out parts on all equipment serviced. Generate work orders on each machine worked on, including detailed description of solution and the asset of the equipment. Evaluate alternative solutions (repair/replacements) on priority equipment to limit downtime. Accept the input of supervisors and co-workers as well as provide input, and be a genuine team player. Job Knowledge & Abilities:
Ability to work on low, medium, and high voltages according to established safety standards. Estimate the materials, supplies, and timeframes necessary to complete an installation, repair or maintenance project Knowledge of testing, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining electrical & mechanical equipment. Demonstrated experience in electrical work, wiring, switches, etc . Ability to use and understand volt/ohm/meg and temperature meters for troubleshooting equipment. Ability to use PC for information/troubleshooting. Familiarity with PLC logic and interfaces. Position requires use of own tools for normal repairs.
Physical Demands:
12 hours of walking and standing. Requires ability to work safely indoors, outdoors, lift, and carry equipment alone frequently weighing up to 50 lbs. Work on slippery and uneven surfaces, work at heights, in confined spaces and in awkward positions. Ability to walk, stand and climb ladders, grasp and hold objects and tools with full range of wrist and arm motion. Vision capacity to perform fine measurements and differentiate between colored wires, and hearing capacity sufficient to understand conversations. Must be able to work on the manufacturing production floor.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED. Sufficient experience in electrical work, wiring, switches, etc., preferred. Prefer Industrial Maintenance/Machining Technology Diploma/Degree with 3 years industrial maintenance experience or at least 5 years industrial maintenance experience Prefer minimum 3 years installing/troubleshooting AC/DC controls and medium/low voltage circuits. Demonstrated competence in electrical work. Prefer minimum 3 years' experience with hydraulic/mechanical troubleshooting, pneumatics, and pumps. Knowledge of Windows based operating systems and MS Office programs. Experience with CMMS a plus.
