Job Description

Industrial Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift (Monday-Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 12:00 am) Who We're Looking For Hood Container Corporation is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to support our Nashville operation. This role is critical to keeping manufacturing machinery running safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. We are looking for someone who has worked hands-on with manufacturing machinery in a fast pace production environment. What You'll Do Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing machinery including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Troubleshoot and repair issues such as drives, motors, gearboxes, belts, rollers, glue systems, steam systems, and controls. Diagnose breakdowns under production pressure and restore equipment quickly and safely. Read and interpret schematics , electrical prints, pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams, and PLC-related documentation. Work with AC/DC drives, VFDs, servo systems, encoders, and PLC-controlled corrugator equipment . Document maintenance work accurately in the CMMS system. Partner with operations to improve machine reliability, and preventive maintenance effectiveness. Follow OSHA and Hood Container safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) . Perform other duties as assigned. What You Bring Required Experience & Education High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant. OR a relevant technical degree, certification, or completed apprenticeship may substitute for experience. Technical Skills Strong working knowledge of corrugator mechanical and electrical systems . Proven ability to troubleshoot live production equipment. Solid understanding of electrical testing, meters, and schematics. Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, drives, and PLC-controlled machinery. Comfortable using power tools and performing welding, basic fabrication, HVAC, and electrical troubleshooting. Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting. Physical & Work Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly. Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and work overhead. Comfortable working around moving machinery, heat, cold (40°F to 125°F), and heights up to 38 feet. Willingness to work overtime as needed. Why You'll Love Working at
