Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Floor Technician to join our facilities maintenance team. This role is essential in ensuring that all flooring surfaces within our commercial and institutional environments are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and appearance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cleaning and floor care, with experience in carpet cleaning, buffing, and custodial services. As a Floor Technician, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and hygienic environment for staff, clients, and visitors alike. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of various flooring surfaces, including tile, vinyl, hardwood, and carpeted areas. Conduct carpet cleaning procedures using appropriate equipment and environmentally friendly solutions. Buff, polish, and restore floors to maintain their appearance and prolong their lifespan. Execute janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal to uphold cleanliness standards. Follow established safety protocols during all cleaning activities to ensure a safe working environment. Use specialized cleaning tools and equipment effectively to achieve optimal results. Assist with deep cleaning projects and periodic floor refurbishments as needed. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages or equipment issues promptly. Skills Proven experience in custodial or janitorial services with a focus on floor care. Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques specific to different flooring types. Familiarity with carpet cleaning methods and equipment operation. Ability to operate buffing machines and other floor maintenance tools safely. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality work standards. Good organizational skills for managing supplies and scheduling tasks efficiently.
