Job Title:
Maintenance Technician Job Description This role maintains and repairs advanced packaging equipment, conveyor systems, robotics, and automated guided vehicles in a highly automated, fast-paced manufacturing environment. The maintenance technician inspects, troubleshoots, and services both electrical and mechanical systems, performs preventative maintenance, and supports newly automated equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. Responsibilities Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair packaging equipment, conveyor systems, robotics, and automated guided vehicles (AGVs). Diagnose and resolve issues in electrical systems, including components operating at AC/DC voltages up to 480V. Perform preventative maintenance on newly automated machinery and existing equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Maintain and repair mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyor components. Troubleshoot and support programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and AC/DC drives. Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment safely and effectively while performing maintenance tasks. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support reliability and continuous improvement efforts. Work collaboratively with operations and other maintenance team members to prioritize and complete work orders in a fast-paced environment. Follow established safety procedures and best practices while working on electrical and mechanical systems. Support automation initiatives by assisting with the installation, setup, and optimization of new equipment. Essential Skills At least 3+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical systems, including packaging equipment, conveyors, robotics, and AGVs. In-depth electrical experience working with AC/DC voltages, including systems up to 480V. Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics, including maintenance and repair. Ability to perform preventative maintenance on automated and mechanical equipment. Knowledge of troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and AC/DC drives. Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment safely and accurately. Solid understanding of industrial maintenance practices in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Industrial Maintenance or Mechatronics degree, or equivalent technical education. Experience working with newly automated equipment and advanced automation technologies. Background in maintaining equipment used in high-volume distribution or manufacturing operations. Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to diagnosing complex equipment issues. Effective communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and document maintenance activities clearly. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a new, state-of-the-art facility that operates as a high-volume distribution and manufacturing hub for consumer products. The environment features advanced automation, including packaging lines, conveyor systems, robotics, and AGVs, supporting a fast-paced manufacturing operation. The position follows a 2nd shift schedule from 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM, Monday through Friday. Team members work with modern industrial technologies and equipment in a clean, organized, and safety-focused setting, where collaboration and open communication are encouraged. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Smyrna, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $68640.00/yr.
