We are on a journey of continuous growth - now looking for our next star - a passionate Maintenance Technician. This position reports to the Maintenance Lead and will work in Sparta, TN. About the position As Maintenance Technician of the Sparta team, you will be involved in Install, assemble, inspect, adjust, service, and repair a broad range of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical/electronic and PLC equipment used in high‑volume fabrication and assembly operations. Diagnose equipment issues, perform corrective actions to restore proper operation, and support reliable, efficient production processes. Your Main Responsibilities Receives maintenance work assignments, via oral instructions, from Maintenance supervision and or lead person. Evaluates the assignments and determines a prioritized, logical approach to performing each assignment with minimal support and equipment downtime. Inspects existing equipment for safe and proper operation. Inspects mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment for safe proper operation. Utilizes safety policies and procedures, to include Lock Out/Tag Out, when performing job duties. Ensures that required safety guards are in place during operation inspection and recommends initial installation safety guards, where necessary. Inspects new mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment to determine compliance with proper installation procedures. Coordinates the repair and maintenance of existing or new equipment with Supervisor, appropriate department manager/supervisor, and industrial Maintenance personnel. Makes repairs or performs preventative maintenance with minimal interruption to production. Such work activities include adjustment, correcting damage, troubleshooting, etc. Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Fabricate and construct parts as required using standard maintenance machinery and hand tools. Maintains performance and maintenance records of equipment in accordance with predetermined preventative maintenance programs. Considers all safety precautions and power isolation of circuits to cause a minimal of hazard and interference to operations. Keep work areas clean, orderly, and safe while ensuring proper care and use of tools and equipment. Install, program, troubleshoot, and support a variety of PLC platforms while maintaining accurate and up-to-date technical documentation. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot AC and DC drives, motors, and control systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation. Have general knowledge of refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems. Must have working knowledge of electrical control systems. Ability to troubleshoot electronics and machine process control programs. Must have working knowledge of power transmission systems, chain, belt, and gear drives, speed reducers, sprocket, gear, and pulley ratios. Demonstrate a strong understanding of pumps and valves, including their operating principles, selection, and applications within industrial systems. Prior experience in injection, extrusion or roto molding environments is preferred. Utilizes metalworking and millwright knowledge in the fabrication, modification and repair of assembly fixtures, control cabinets, etc. Ability to accomplish arc and gas welding, brazing, silver and soft soldering. Perform installation and maintenance of compressed air, steam, water, oil, and chilled water plumbing systems to support equipment and facility operations. Ability to safely operate company equipment, including trucks, forklifts, electric lifts, and aerial lifts. Performs other duties as assigned by the quality system. Collaborate effectively with coworkers to support team and operational goals. Adhere to company environmental policies and support environmental compliance initiatives. As assigned and after training, handles hazardous waste accumulation, in accordance with Company Policy. Perform other duties, as assigned by the manager, supervisor or lead person. Available to work daily schedules and weekend overtime, including short‑notice assignments as required. Perform all assigned duties in accordance with department and plant safety policies and procedures. What do we offer? Long-term, temporary assignments to any shift may be required to maintain manufacturing processes. Continuous standing, walking, and reaching. Intermittent crouching/stooping, pushing/pulling, bending, and lifting/lowering. Occasionally required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, climbing stairs, balance, kneeling, crawling, talk or hear, smell or taste. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Intermittent lifting of over 50 pounds without assistance, or up to 100 pounds with assistance. Ability to work in a continuously hot environment. Duties are performed with some exposure to noise, lubricants and chemicals. May also work in areas that are confined, dusty, and dirty or require personal protective equipment. Responsible for usage of all maintenance equipment, tools, forklifts, and/or company vehicles. To be successful in this role, we believe that you possess the following skills, competencies & characteristics: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Electrician Certification or associate's degree in Electronics or equivalent preferred. Candidates having taken additional technical courses through technical or trade schools preferred. Five + years' experience in related job needed in the application and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment. Experience in installing, maintaining and repairing electrical equipment. Experience in installing, maintaining and repairing electronic equipment a plus.
