Full-Time About the Role Chads Fencing is a locally owned and operated in the Abilene area with over 25 years of proven experience in delivering high-quality fencing solutions. We are currently seeking a hardworking, reliable individual to join our crew as a Fence Builder. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in building something tangible, and wants to learn from decades of expertise. You will work on a variety of both residential and commercial projects, ensuring our clients receive the durable and professional craftsmanship that has defined our reputation for over a quarter of a century. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end installation of various fencing types, including wood, chain link, and metal. Your daily tasks will include clearing brush, digging post holes, mixing and pouring concrete, and accurately measuring and cutting materials to ensure every fence is level and secure. Because we operate primarily outdoors, you will be expected to work effectively in the Texas sun and adapt to early morning start times during the summer to beat the high heat. You will collaborate closely with the rest of the crew to maintain a safe worksite, manage tools and equipment efficiently, and represent the company professionally while interacting with residential and commercial property owners. Qualifications The ideal candidate is a motivated individual who possesses the physical stamina required for a demanding construction environment and can work long hours on their feet. While previous fencing or construction experience is highly preferred and will influence your starting pay, we are most interested in candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. You must have consistent and reliable transportation to and from the job site every day to ensure our projects stay on schedule. Successful applicants will be those who can follow precise instructions, work effectively as part of a team, and maintain a high level of productivity throughout the day. Please note that all qualified candidates will undergo a one-week trial period following a successful initial interview to demonstrate their skills and fit within our crew. Compensation We offer a competitive hourly wage starting between $14.00 and $17.00, with your specific starting rate determined by your prior experience and skill set. As a member of Chads Fencing, you will benefit from stable, full-time work and the opportunity to gain specialized trade skills under the guidance of industry veterans. Our schedule is designed with the crew's well-being in mind; during the summer months, we often start as early as 6:00 AM to finish before the peak afternoon heat, while winter hours typically begin around 8:00 AM.
