Job Description

Maintenance Technician Broadwind Heavy Fabrications United States, Texas, Abilene Jun 11, 2026 RESPONSIBILITIES
AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(May include some or all of the following responsibilities)
  • Install and dismantle equipment
  • Change out weld power supplies
  • Exchange bevellers for service
  • Change flux handling equipment
  • Swap trunnions for repair
  • Change out VFD/transformers
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment (mobile and stationary)
  • Do basic repairs on equipment
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks (plumbing, changing light bulbs and filters)
  • Build and repair electrical cables
  • Record downtime, repair, and PM time in a computerized maintenance management system
  • Removing items from inventory in computerized maintenance management system
  • Complete assigned tasks with minimal assistance
  • Safely operate and transport most mobile heavy equipment for service and repairs
  • Perform daily inspection of rigging and mobile equipment
  • Perform proper rigging techniques with assistance
  • Actively support all EHS and continuous improvement initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
Academic/Experience/Credentials/Certifications High school diploma or GED required. Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by Human Resources. Specialized Skills/Knowledge/Ability Able to troubleshoot and problem-solve basic mechanical and electrical issues. Ability to efficiently and independently operate most mobile heavy equipment. Ability to properly utilize power tools such as a drill press, welder, cutting torches and other miscellaneous standard hand tools. Able to locate and reference all work instructions pertaining to current job or project including identifying needed parts & part numbers. Sense of urgency and accountability. Understanding of department Key Performance Indicators and metrics.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend documents including technical information and blueprints. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees and as a representative of the company.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Strong ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several variables at the same time. May be required to work at heights of more than 10 feet. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
