Job Description

As the Maintenance Technician , you will help coordinate general maintenance on manufacturing equipment and perform general facility-related maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in mechanical systems with working knowledge of electrical systems and industrial maintenance practices. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, calibrating, and supporting facility infrastructure and production equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You will work closely with Manufacturing Supervisors, operators, contractors, and maintenance personnel to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency. This role is day shift and work onsite. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment and facilities.
Equipment will include:
Electrical equipment including facility wiring, generators, sub-panels, and junction boxes. Mechanical equipment including cranes, doors, plumbing, HVAC systems, and compressors. Production equipment including CNC machines, saws, welding equipment, and product testing apparatus (both electrical and hydraulic) Perform adjustment of repair of items as required. Perform preventive maintenance duties that detect early signs of failure or maladjustment. Communicate and listen to operators, vendors, and other maintenance personnel to ensure the production readiness of machines. Perform other work-related tasks as assigned. Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures. Facility Job Duties Technicians will keep safety for our facility's personnel and equipment priority, followed by solid customer service and timely response to all our production equipment needs. The technician will support every aspect of functionality within the Cedar Park facility. Perform preventative maintenance and assist, guide, and train others as needed. Communicate and listen to operators, vendors, and other maintenance personnel to ensure maximum utilization of machines and equipment. Rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components and attachments which involve dismantling, inspection, machining, and/or replacement of purchased parts. Use blueprints and other specifications; uses hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring instruments. Inspect and capable of troubleshooting machines and equipment to locate areas of concern. The technician must be a motivated, selfless handyman with experience in hydraulics, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, framing, welding and/or lighting. Know how to operate and assemble machines and equipment. Able to work at heights and use aerial lifts Able to use a forklift May also perform complex duties which include planning and implementation for programmed facilities plans and general maintenance. Works under appointed supervision. Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a related maintenance role. Experience planning and performing maintenance operations in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred. Experience repairing CNC machines, mills, lathes, drills, and other production equipment is a plus. HVAC diagnostic and repair experience is strongly preferred. Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
Technical Skills Working knowledge of:
Electrical systems (120V-480V) Hydraulic and pneumatic systems HVAC systems Plumbing and mechanical systems Welding and fabrication techniques Production machinery and facility equipment Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications. Basic computer and mathematical skills required. Soft Skills Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Motivated, dependable, and safety-focused team player. Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, climb, and reach. Frequently required to use hands and finger dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and computers. Ability to lift and move materials up to 40 pounds. Ability to communicate effectively through spoken and written communication. Regularly required to work around machinery and industrial equipment. Must be able to view computer screens, read technical documents, and inspect equipment visually. Work Environment Manufacturing, industrial, and facility maintenance environment. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, noise, heat, and other industrial conditions. May require overtime, on-call support, or flexible scheduling based on operational needs. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements for up to 12 hours daily. Frequently required to sit, kneel, climb, reach, and use hands and finger dexterity. Ability to regularly lift and move materials up to 50 pounds. Ability to communicate effectively through spoken and written communication. Good vision required for safe operation of forklifts and equipment. Regularly required to work around machinery and industrial equipment. Factory/manufacturing environment with wide temperature variations and exposure to industrial conditions.
