Job Description

Flexforce Pros- Houston is immediately hiring a Maintenance and Repair Technician for a distribution company located in the Katy area. This is a great opportunity for someone who brings 1-2 years in manufacturing, maintenance, or machine operation experience.

What You'll Be Doing:
As a Maintenance and Repair Technician you will support daily production by performing basic equipment care, routine preventive maintenance, and first‑level troubleshooting. This role ensures machines and work areas remain clean, safe, and ready for operation. A strong understanding of production flow and floor operations is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Cleaning — Perform daily and shift‑based cleaning of automation equipment, sensors, conveyors, guarding, and surrounding areas to maintain uptime and prevent contamination. Preventive Maintenance Routines — Complete scheduled PM tasks such as lubrication, filter changes, visual inspections, tightening fasteners, and checking wear components. Basic Troubleshooting — Identify simple mechanical or electrical issues (jams, misalignments, loose connections, sensor blockage) and restore operation when possible. Area Cleaning & Organization — Maintain 5S standards around machines, including sweeping, wiping surfaces, removing debris, and organizing tools and materials. Production Support — Understand production goals, respond quickly to downtime events, and communicate issues to operators and higher‑level technicians. Documentation — Record PM completion, downtime notes, and basic repair actions in logs or CMMS systems. Safety Compliance — Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, PPE requirements, and safe work practices at all times.
Required Qualifications:
1-2 years in manufacturing, maintenance, or machine operation preferred Technical school or maintenance coursework is a plus but not required Ability to use hand tools, identify worn parts, and understand simple mechanical systems Recognize sensors, wiring, and low‑voltage components (no live electrical work) Know how machines interact with upstream and downstream operations Spot early signs of wear, leaks, or misalignment Report issues clearly to operators, leads, and Level 2/3 technicians Must pass a background check and urine drug screen Must have own reliable transportation #IND123

$19.00 - $20.00 per hour
