Job Description

Job Title Facilities Maintenance Technician Job Summary TICO is seeking a highly skilled and reliable Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of our facilities in several states. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our employees and visitors. Duties and Responsibilities Identify equipment and machines that need repairs and perform routine inspections of the premises. Determine the necessary repairs and diagnose problems. Use blueprints or manuals to plan repair work. Troubleshoot maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing and equipment repair or replacement. Carry out general repairs, such as fixing or replacing doors, windows, and locks, and maintain and repair HVAC systems. Perform routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets and sinks, fixing water leaks, and leaking faucets. Assist with general cleaning and upkeep of the facilities. Obtain supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance. Load and unload equipment and tools into work vehicles if needed. Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including tasks performed, materials used, and costs incurred. Perform carpentry work such as building shelves, repairing furniture, and installing fixtures. Handle painting and plastering tasks to maintain a clean and aesthetically pleasing appearance. Comply with all company safety regulations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Skills & Abilities Solid knowledge of general maintenance techniques and equipment. Proficiency in using hand and power tools. Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Good physical stamina and strength to handle manual tasks. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work on weekends or outside regular working hours for emergencies or special projects. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Must be able to obtain a TWIC Card. Certification in a relevant trade or maintenance field (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC) is desirable but not mandatory. Prior experience in a similar maintenance role is preferred. Physical requirements Prolonged periods standing and walking. Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
