Job Description
JOB Performs entry-level workrepairing and maintaining the City's buildings and facilities. Generally, this position uses routine skills and works under close supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Move and assemble furniture when needed.
Escalate customer complaints to the department manager,Oversee maintenance of tools, equipment, and the work truck to ensure they are kept in good and safe working conditions. Make minor adjustments or remove the equipment from service until proper repairs are made.
Change HVAC filters and clean outside condensing units in all City facilities.
Ductless mini split cleaning.
Keep shop facility and maintenance truck in orderly and good working conditions.
Skillfully and safely operate hand tools and equipment.
Subject to after-hour call outs for emergency situations and special events.
Help load, unload, and sort surplus items to auction off to the public.
Assists with janitorial duties.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Required Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or the equivalent. Minimum of six months of professional experience working in facility maintenance.
Ability to occasionally work hours other than the regular daytime schedule such on-call, or emergency response situations.
Required Certificate and LicensesValid driver's license from any state in the U.S. Preferred QualificationsCertificate or degree from an accredited technical school or college.
One or more years of experience in facility maintenance.
Equipment, Machines, Tools and Work AidsAbility to operate a lift, small hand tools, chainsaw, shovel, two-way radio, telephone, computer, measuring devices, etc. Must be able to drive a vehicle to and from various work sites.
Working Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Perform repair and maintenance of City buildings and facilities to include but not limited, plumbing, minor electrical work, wall repair, flooring, painting, and HVAC.Climb ladders, access roofs, enter attics.Move and assemble furniture when needed.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle and feel items, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
