POSITION SUMMARY
In this role, Maintenance (Engine/Compressor) Technicians will support the safe operation, maintenance, and optimization of natural gas compression equipment. Technicians will gain hands-on experience, complete advanced training, and progressively take on more responsibility in troubleshooting, maintenance, and team leadership. The schedule for this role will be Monday - Friday, standard business hours, or as discussed during interview.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance & Operations Perform preventive, corrective, and major maintenance on engines, compressors, and associated equipment. Execute top-end overhauls (engine heads, turbos, bearings, water pumps, etc.) Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues to maintain system reliability. Perform engine tuning and emissions optimization using analyzers and AFR adjustments. Maintain clean, safe, and inspection-ready work environments. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental guidelines. Support Process Safety Management (PSM), permitting, MOC, and PSSR processes. Identify and mitigate risks before performing critical work (confined space, lifting, etc.) Tools & Technical Skills Use precision tools such as hydraulic torque wrenches, laser alignment tools, dial indicators, and micrometers. Apply knowledge of fuel composition (BTU, specific gravity, etc.) Utilize Microsoft Office and maintenance systems. Teamwork & Leadership Collaborate with operations, vendors, and internal teams. Train and mentor junior technicians as experience increases. Lead maintenance activities and support team development (Tech I & II levels) Planning & Continuous Improvement Manage parts inventory and ordering to support maintenance activities. Assist with maintenance planning and scheduling. Identify and implement equipment and process improvements. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with engines and compressors. High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred Commitment to safety and operational excellence Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and process issues. Strong communication and teamwork skills Proven work ethic with ability to work independently (increasing with level) Ability to prioritize daily work schedule and function with minimum supervision. Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events. Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions. Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs. Ability to work in confined or physically demanding positions (climbing, kneeling, etc.) Availability for overtime, weekends, holidays, and on call/callouts as needed. Must comply with all PPE requirements (FR clothing, eye/ear protection, etc.) Regular and reliable attendance required.
