Job Description

About Us We work hard. Skills get you an interview — character gets you the job. Founded in 2018, The DFW Handyman has become one of the premier handyman services in DFW, serving many of the area's finest homes and estates. Our reputation is built on trust, communication, and a no‑BS approach. We're building the premier destination in DFW for craftsmen and women who want to do exceptional work. We're in the relationship business. We just so happen to do home repairs. About the Job Our work spans general handyman repairs, rough and finish carpentry, welding, painting, door replacement and refinishing, flooring, and drywall. No two days look the same. Clients call us not just for what we do, but for how we do it. They come back — and refer us — because of how we make them feel. Every job is an interview for the next one. That's our standard, and we expect the same from anyone representing our company. We sell without being salesy. We diagnose without fear‑mongering. We have clients, not customers.
Responsibilities:
The Craft
  • Strong intuition for figuring things out; use all five senses to diagnose and solve problems.
  • You don't need to know everything — but you do need to be willing to learn.
  • Work efficiently. Time matters. This is how we win the race every day. The Presence
  • Clean workspace. Clean van. Clean appearance.
  • Open, willing communication with the owner and with clients.
  • Leave every space better than you found it — clients should feel the difference the moment you pack up.
What We Are Looking For Personality Requirements:
We are seeking someone with quiet confidence — the kind that comes from knowing your craft, not proving it. When a problem is bigger than expected, you pause, regroup, and walk the client through it with empathy and a plan — not excitement about a bigger invoice. When a job stumps you, you're honest, you sit with it, and you follow up before they have to ask. You sell without selling. You serve without performing. We care less about where you've been and more about where you want to go. If that sounds like you, keep reading. Humble, Hungry, and Smart.
    Humble:
Admit what you don't know and commit to finding the answer. Clients trust honesty over false confidence.
      Hungry:
Skills pay the bills. Profit keeps us fed. You take pride in the work, not just the paycheck.
        Smart:
Emotional intelligence. Fraction math. Respect for "simple" jobs. If your first instinct with a bigger problem is excitement about an upsell — this isn't your place.
          Dependable:
Show up. Follow through. Communicate. No excuses.
            Coachable:
The owner brings nearly 30 years of tips and tricks. Be open to learning.
            Experience/Skills Requirements:
            • High school diploma preferred, not required.
            • Demonstrable craftsmanship in a professional setting — photos, references, or a portfolio welcome.
            • Former handyman business owners strongly encouraged to apply. If you built something that didn't go the distance, we respect the attempt.
            • Comfortable working in high‑end homes — marble floors and 30‑foot ceilings don't intimidate you.
            • Able to plan and execute jobs independently — start to finish, on time, on budget.
            Other Requirements:
            • Work attire: Company shirt (provided), jeans without holes, appropriate shoes.
            • Strong work ethic.
            • Able to operate all necessary tools.
            • Able to lift and carry materials as needed.
            • Must pass a criminal background and credit check.
            • A genuine desire to "make it right" every time — no excuses.
            • Flexibility for delays, rescheduling, and occasional scope changes while maintaining professionalism.
What We Have To Offer The DFW Handyman is proudly independent — no private equity, no corporate oversight, no investors dictating decisions. We're building something rare: a trades company where the work is excellent, the relationships are genuine, and the people doing the work are treated with the same respect we expect them to show our clients. We are small by design and selective by choice. Growth matters — but never at the expense of the standard. If you're the right person, you won't just have a job here; you'll have a stake in something meaningful.
            Compensation & Benefits:
$200 - $250 per day depending on experience. Profit sharing Personal Time Off Now here's what you should do next to apply for this opportunity:
