Maintenance Technician

Industrial Maintenance and Diesel Technician Job Summary:

Jacobs Stone Products is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance and Diesel Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the machinery, equipment, trucks, and trailers used in our daily stone production and transportation operations. This position is responsible for keeping thin stone veneer saws, cutting equipment, support machinery, company trucks, and trailers in safe and dependable working order. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical ability, wiring and electrical troubleshooting experience, and working knowledge of diesel-powered equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain thin stone veneer cutting equipment, saws, conveyors, motors, hydraulic systems, and other production machinery Troubleshoot electrical issues including shorts, wiring failures, switches, relays, lighting, charging systems, and control problems on machinery, trucks, and trailers Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment and fleet vehicles to reduce downtime Repair and service company trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment used in operations Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, and electrical problems and make timely repairs Perform welding, fabrication, and light shop repairs as needed Maintain records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules Monitor machinery and fleet condition and report larger repair needs before breakdowns occur Help keep maintenance shop, tools, and work areas organized and safe Work closely with operations to prioritize repairs and keep production moving

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as a maintenance technician, diesel technician, fleet mechanic, industrial maintenance technician, or heavy equipment mechanic Strong electrical and wiring diagnostic experience Working knowledge of diesel engines and truck and trailer systems Experience with hydraulics, bearings, motors, pumps, belts, and production machinery Ability to read wiring diagrams, troubleshoot circuits, and diagnose electrical shorts Welding and fabrication experience preferred Ability to work independently and solve problems in a fast-paced production environment Prior experience with manufacturing equipment, quarry equipment, or stone processing equipment is a plus

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift heavy parts and tools Must be able to stand, bend, crawl, climb, and work around machinery for extended periods Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and shop conditions

What We're Looking For:

We need somebody who is hands-on, dependable, mechanically sharp, and able to figure out problems without having to be told every step. This person needs to be comfortable working on both production machinery and fleet equipment, especially electrical and wiring problems that can shut down operations.

$19.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 55 per week
