Job Description

Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas is seeking a reliable and hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to help keep our stores, donation centers, and offices safe, clean, and operating at their best. In this role, you'll perform day-to-day repairs, preventive maintenance, and facility upkeep across multiple locations. You'll work both independently and as part of a team, responding to work orders, supporting projects, and ensuring our spaces remain welcoming for team members, customers, donors, and program participants. What You'll Do Maintenance & Repairs Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections across assigned locations Diagnose and repair basic-to-intermediate issues (electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, fixtures, locks, minor HVAC) Escalate complex repairs to supervisors or outside vendors when needed Complete work orders accurately in the maintenance system (CMMS) Facility Upkeep Maintain a clean, safe, and professional appearance of buildings and grounds Perform painting, touch-ups, pressure washing, minor landscaping, and fixture replacements Conduct housekeeping and facility inspections and report findings Safety & Compliance Follow OSHA standards and always use proper PPE Report hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions promptly Safely operate company vehicles and complete inspections before/after use Projects & Support Assist with renovations, remodels, and new facility setups Support emergency maintenance requests and on-call coverage as scheduled Coordinate supplies and parts through purchasing processes Communicate clearly with supervisors and location managers on progress and needs What You Bring Required High school diploma or GED 1-2 years of hands-on maintenance or facilities experience Working knowledge of basic trades (electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, carpentry, minor HVAC) Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to travel between locations Preferred Experience in retail, warehouse, or multi-site environments Trade certification or vocational training Familiarity with CMMS/work order systems Bilingual (Spanish/English) Key Skills Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Dependability and ability to work independently Attention to safety in active, customer-facing environments Clear communication and follow-through Work Environment & Requirements Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations Safety-sensitive position (drug testing required) Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks (up to 40 lbs; team lift beyond that) Frequent movement, climbing, and use of tools and equipment
