Position:
This position is an entry level role. From this position, you will have the opportunity to learn maintenance business basics. Most of the work for this position does not require any previous training or experience in the maintenance business. Most assignments are routine and repetitive, requiring brief instructions usually involving lifting, carrying, manual loading and unloading. Major Functions of the Job Perform a variety of general maintenance tasks and follow verbal and written instructions. Follow instructions and specifications to determine work activities. Work as part of a team performing various highway maintenance activities. Safely operate hand/power tools and equipment required to do each job; care for and maintain these tools and equipment in order to ensure long lasting use. Follow all site safety precautions and procedures. Maintain a secure job site to eliminate potential safety hazards. Work safely alongside mechanical equipment. Follow the instructions of the individual(s) in charge. Minor Functions of the Job Safely operate SUV and up to ¾-ton pickup trucks, if applicable. Complete daily logs and perform routine maintenance checks on assigned vehicles: check fluids, air filter, tire pressure, change tire, etc. Participate in weekly safety meetings and required training. Be a dependable and reliable member of the team. Show initiative; seek out work and get the job done without being told. Provide assistance to other workers as necessary. Communicate clearly with supervisors and other team members. Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors Must be able to lift at least 50 pound repeatedly. Will ascend/descend structures to perform job duties. Work safe and independently in vehicle traffic zones. Ability to work safely in a wide range of environmental and weather conditions (i.e. work in hot, cold or wet conditions for extended periods of time). Ability to stand for extended periods of time while operating equipment. Must wear personal protective equipment at all times on job site. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing) Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations Carry out simple arithmetic functions Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job Neat, clean and presentable appearance Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology Ability to use smart phone and applications Ability to adjust to changing work schedule Special Position Requirements This position requires independent and team work under ranging weather and environmental conditions, including high vehicle traffic operations. All employees must adhere to Jorgensen's safety policy, employment policies, procedures and programs and contribute to the PACT culture. Initiative Do you find opportunities to do more to help the team? Are you actively working to help the company grow? Work Requirements Jorgensen operates a 24 hour/7 day a week operation. Work schedules will vary by work load, client requests, location, and emergency conditions. All employees are expected to work various schedules and at times assist with emergency situations and perform on call activities as assigned.
