General Maintenance Technician

Job Overview CBS Rentals is seeking a proactive and versatile General Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, safety, and appearance of our facilities through comprehensive maintenance activities. If you have experience in construction, apartment maintenance or you are simply handy with general repairs, we want to hear from you! Our portfolio consists of 14 boutique apartment buildings and 40 homes within walking distance to the UVA Grounds. We have two apartment buildings and a commercial office in historic Belmont, along with condominiums near the UVa School of Medicine. Our commercial portfolio includes a shopping center and self-storage facilities, along with properties leased to the University of Virginia Medical Center. Duties Must be self-motivated, energetic and able to maintain a positive and optimistic attitude Receive and complete work orders in a timely manner Perform troubleshooting and general maintenance repairs Work urgently and multi-task with safety in mind Assist with building and common area maintenance as needed Assist with preventative maintenance (smoke detectors, HVAC filter changes, etc.) Perform turnover-related duties Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition Participate in paid on-call rotations for evenings and weekends Engage with residents in a professional and caring manner Adhere to Fair Housing regulations and company policies Other duties as assigned Experience Experience in maintenance, construction or property management preferred, but not required Strong trouble-shooting and repair skills Ability to work independently Valid driver's license required. Must pass criminal background check as condition of employment. This is a full-time position, typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Weekend and after hours work when necessary with OT pay.
