Job Description

About the role: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of CVH properties, ensuring that all rental units and facilities are well-maintained, safe, and compliant with housing standards. This role involves coordinating repairs, managing vendor relationships, and performing hands-on maintenance tasks as needed. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong organizational skills and technical expertise in property maintenance.

Regional Property Manager Responsibilities:
Oversee and perform routine maintenance and repairs for CVH properties, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building upkeep. Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize costly repairs and ensure property longevity. Manage work orders, prioritize tasks, and assign maintenance projects to external contractors as needed. Conduct property inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety and housing regulations. Serve as the primary point of contact for maintenance-related emergencies and after-hours calls. Maintain accurate records of maintenance requests, completed work, and inventory of supplies. Work closely with property management staff to coordinate unit turnovers and timely repairs. Assist in budget planning by providing cost estimates for repairs and maintenance projects. Oversee maintenance staff, ensuring efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
Required Abilities/Skills:
Basic knowledge of property management principles and practices. Strong knowledge of general maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, painting. Ability to troubleshoot and solve maintenance issues efficiently. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with vendors, residents, and staff. Proficiency in using maintenance management software and work order systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Understanding of housing codes, safety regulations, and compliance standards Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to the mission of providing affordable housing and supporting low-income families. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in maintenance-related fields preferred. Experience in Facilities management, or a related field. Experience supervising maintenance teams or coordinating contractor work preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Experience working with diverse, low-income populations is a plus. Knowledge of affordable housing programs and regulations Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, such as bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders. Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to respond to on-call emergencies as needed.

$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
