Job Description

SUMMARY:
The Occupational Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment used in the facility. The Occupational Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for performing preventative maintenance tasks on all equipment in the assigned area. The Occupational Maintenance Technician is required to work with all types of hand tools, powered tools, lifts, welding/cutting tools, fabrication tools, compressors, food processing equipment, high voltage equipment, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance in assigned area.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment used in the facility.
  • Perform repairs and equipment installation/removal in an efficient manner.
  • Maintain good housekeeping at workstations and work areas.
  • Respond to plant emergencies including Haz-Mat incidents, equipment malfunction, fires, severe weather, etc. as directed by supervision.
  • Lock out / tag out certification.
  • Complete daily maintenance paperwork for assigned work orders/requests and checklists.
  • Special projects/duties as assigned by maintenance supervisor or manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will not have supervisory responsibility. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
  • Required o High school diploma or equivalent o 2 years of experience in machine maintenance, building maintenance, preventative maintenance, carpentry, electrical, heating and cooling systems, plumbing and/or electrical o Basic welding experience o Able to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and schematics o Have or obtain tools needed to perform the above tasks o Operational knowledge of common hand, power and industrial tools o Valid Driver's License • Preferred o Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics
