Job Description

Maintenance Technician II Pay Range:
$32-35/hr Basic Qualifications High school diploma or GED Two years of experience in maintenance and repair Valid driver's license required Preferred Qualifications Trade school education with an emphasis in electrical/mechanical equipment or metal fabrication Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and tools used in the construction, repair, and operation of engines, pumps, and other mechanical equipment related to water/wastewater treatment operations Knowledge of internal combustion engines, electrical pump motors, and safe work practices Ability to enter data into a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, structures, grounds, machinery, and equipment Lubricate equipment and inspect for malfunctions Replace packing in pumps or valves and replace bearings in motors, pumps, and related equipment Tune engines, set valve clearances, clean, and adjust regulators Analyze equipment failures to determine root cause and help prevent recurrence Install and set up new equipment Clean pipes and perform plumbing and pipe fitting tasks as needed Operate gas and/or arc welding equipment to heat, cut, braze, or weld Assist with maintaining maintenance records Communicate effectively regarding recommended maintenance and repair procedures Follow written and verbal instructions Perform other duties as assigned
