Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on performing routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance within a clean, well-organized, climate-controlled warehouse environment. The Maintenance Technician uses strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills to maintain facility equipment, building systems, and office fixtures while ensuring a safe and orderly workplace. The position requires comfort with heights, safe use of hand and power tools, and the ability to support both internal facility needs and external contractors. Responsibilities Perform routine and preventative maintenance on facility equipment such as conveyors, forklifts, and warehouse racking systems to ensure safe and reliable operation. Complete general building maintenance tasks, including painting, interior finishes, and minor repairs throughout the facility. Assemble and install office furniture, fixtures, and equipment using appropriate tools and methods. Conduct basic plumbing work, including minor repairs in restrooms and common areas, to keep facilities functioning properly. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following housekeeping standards and safety procedures. Support internal facility needs by responding to maintenance requests and collaborating with other departments as needed. Coordinate with third-party contractors for specialized maintenance or repair work, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently. Manage and respond to maintenance requests through a ticketing or work order system, including prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact. Safely operate a wide range of hand tools and power tools for mechanical, electrical, and general maintenance tasks. Learn and safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and cherry pickers, in accordance with training and safety guidelines. Assist with HVAC-related maintenance tasks and participate in on-the-job training to develop HVAC knowledge. Perform cleaning and upkeep activities as needed to support overall facility appearance and functionality. Work comfortably at heights when required, following all safety protocols and using appropriate equipment. Lift and move materials weighing 10 pounds or more as part of daily maintenance activities. Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues and perform repairs within scope of training and safety guidelines. Essential Skills At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a facility, warehouse, or similar environment. Demonstrated ability to perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment such as conveyors, forklifts, and warehouse racking systems. Hands-on experience completing general building maintenance tasks, including painting, interior finishes, and minor repairs. Mechanical aptitude with experience assembling and installing office furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Basic knowledge of plumbing systems with the ability to perform minor repairs in restrooms and common areas. Proficiency in safely operating a wide range of hand tools and power tools. Ability to manage and respond to maintenance requests through a ticketing or work order system, including prioritizing tasks. Comfort working at heights and using equipment such as forklifts or cherry pickers, or a strong willingness to learn. Ability to lift 10 pounds or more as part of routine duties. Strong commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Experience supporting internal facility needs and coordinating with third-party contractors. Mechanical, repair, and troubleshooting skills across facility systems. Basic electrical skills sufficient to support general maintenance tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications 4+ months of forklift or cherry picker experience, or a strong willingness to learn and become proficient. Forklift certification preferred or the ability to obtain certification after hire. Interest in developing HVAC knowledge and assisting with related maintenance tasks through on-the-job training. Experience with HVAC, painting, furniture assembly, plumbing, cleaning, and electrical work in a maintenance setting. Ability to adapt to changing maintenance priorities and work independently with minimal supervision. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Appleton, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
