Maintenance Mechanic - First, Second or Split Shift

Requires knowledge of various trade fundamentals to deal with general repairs. Performs assigned work to repair and maintain machines and equipment. Performs general maintenance work and maintains structures, electrical systems, heating and plumbing, etc. Maintains over the road equipment and forklift trucks. Diagnoses equipment, disassembles, repairs, and reassembles, replaces parts as necessary. Simple turning and forming of metal parts using lathe, drill press, etc. Structural and sheet metal work to maintain and repair buildings and structures. Performs concrete and masonry work, routine carpenter functions, simple electrical repairs, pipe fitting and plumbing of a regular and routine nature. Electrical arc welding, cutting and brazing as required. Works from drawings, sketches, layouts or instructions under minimum supervision, work is subject to final inspection. Responsible for visual inspection of equipment and prompt reporting of malfunctions or maintenance problems to the supervisor. Responsible for lubricating equipment and keeping it clean at all times. Also completing all preventative maintenance.
