Job Description

Maintenance Technician - Second Shift Gilman Cheese Corporation is seeking a technician to join our maintenance team. The maintenance team is responsible for ensuring that Gilman Cheese facilities are in good operating condition while following all safety and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements. Salary for this role will depend on qualifications and experience.
The minimum rate is:
$24.00 per hour. New hires are eligible for a $500 bonus after (3) months of employment, and second $500 bonus after (6) months of employment! Team members on second shift work Monday through Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until about 2:30 A.M. and one or two Fridays per month based on business need.
Duties/Responsibilities :
Assist with the implementation and execution of the Preventative Maintenance Program for Gilman Cheese Corporation Develop a working knowledge of building facilities, all equipment, and machines Help diagnose problems when equipment repairs are required; contact appropriate vendors if needed Maintain and clean maintenance shop and tools used in repairing production equipment Follow all established safety protocols and work with safety coordinator to implement safety improvements Follow and comply with applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and additional quality assurance policies Tools used: Hand tools, leaf blower, snow blower, related equipment
Education and Experience :
A minimum of six (6) months of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required. Electromechanical and manufacturing maintenance experience is preferred. This position requires the following skills : Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and math skills Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize independently Ability to collaborate with team members Mechanically inclined mindset
Physical Requirements :
The position involves: continuous standing and walking, occasional sitting and bending, seldom crouching, kneeling, and climbing. The position requires lifting 25 lbs. frequently with occasional lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
