Job Description

Multi-Craft Maintenance Mechanic B Second Shift - Immediate Availability - $2.00 shift premium! General Summary Under limited supervision, the Multi-Craft Maintenance Mechanic B will work in an industrial recycling environment working with process and physical plant equipment. Duties include diagnosing and repairing all mechanical and electrical maintenance issues associated with maintaining production machinery and equipment throughout the facility. Essential Job Functions Inspects facilities equipment, process equipment and buildings to determine need for repairs. Evaluates and repairs or replaces damaged or malfunctioning equipment. Maintain dust collection systems for proper velocity, air volume and change filters. Repair and maintains mechanical equipment, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, gear boxes, and air handling units. Installs, maintains or repairs water distribution and air metering systems, pipelines, valves and related system components. Operates shop machinery, drill press, laths, milling machine and hand tools. Uses acetylene torches, welding equipment, electrical and gas powered hand tools, manual hand tools in the performance of duties. Determines type and quantities of materials required to perform and complete job assignments. Checks equipment for proper servicing, operation and safety and reports defects to supervisor, maintains inventory of tools, equipment and supplies. Performs scheduled (PM's) preventative maintenance and maintenance repair related to particular area of assignment; and inputs data in CMMS from a computer terminal. Operates fork lift and makes minor repairs. Observes standard operating procedures and safety practices. From a computer terminal reports discrepancies and reports daily activities to the Maintenance Manager. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Skilled in using and operating hand tools, mechanical equipment, power tools and equipment required to work in a safe and efficient manner. Skilled in performing welding duties when assigned maintenance task. Skilled in identifying unsafe conditions and taking corrective action. Skilled in troubleshooting and assessing problems and determining most effective method of repair. Skilled in communicating effectively with others. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, plans, sketches, blue prints, and procedure manuals. Ability to be forklift certified. Must meet minimum security requirements of Data Control/Asset Departments. Must possess a valid driver's license be insurable by our current and any future insurance carriers. Ability to speak, read, write English. Experience with Microsoft Office products. Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment. Education and Experience High school diploma strongly desired with 4-7 years of experience working as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial manufacturing environment.
