Job Title:
Maintenance Mechanic (Night Shift - Industrial Maintenance Technician) Job Description This role focuses on providing industrial maintenance support on a night shift schedule in a clean, organized manufacturing environment. You will spend the majority of your time on mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting, with significant exposure to electrical systems up to 480V. The position involves working on blow molding equipment, conveyor lines, airveyers, and belt systems to keep production running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Perform approximately 60% mechanical and 40% electrical maintenance tasks on production equipment. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair blow molding equipment, conveyor lines, airveyers, and belt systems to minimize downtime. Carry out preventive maintenance (PM) on mechanical equipment, including inspection, lubrication, adjustment, and replacement of parts. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components such as motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, valves, and bearings. Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V single and three phase, including control circuits, sensors, and lights. Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to diagnose and resolve equipment issues. Assist with or perform minor MIG and stick welding and basic fabrication as needed for equipment repair or modification. Perform general building maintenance, including changing light ballasts, replacing sockets, and handling basic plumbing tasks. Document maintenance work performed and communicate equipment status and issues to the appropriate personnel. Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working on mechanical and electrical systems. Essential Skills Hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Electrical maintenance and troubleshooting experience, including working with systems up to 480V single and three phase. Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting, including motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, valves, and bearings. Ability to perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and systems. Experience troubleshooting and repairing control circuits, sensors, and lighting components. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical diagrams. Capability to perform general facility maintenance, including basic electrical and plumbing tasks. Willingness and ability to work a 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. 2-2-3 night shift schedule. Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. Comfort working in a plastics or blow molding production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Some MIG and stick welding experience is a plus. Basic fabrication skills are beneficial. Experience with blow molding equipment and plastics production is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to work independently on night shifts while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Work Environment You work in a nice, clean, and organized manufacturing facility that is relatively compact and easy to navigate. The role follows a 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. 2-2-3 night shift schedule, giving you a predictable rotation of workdays and days off. The facility focuses on producing plastic bottles using blow molding equipment, with supporting conveyor lines, airveyers, and belt systems. You regularly use mechanical and electrical tools, read blueprints and schematics, and may occasionally use welding and fabrication equipment for repairs. Uniforms are provided, and you receive a boot allowance to ensure appropriate work footwear.
