Job Title:
Maintenance Mechanic - CNC and Manufacturing Equipment Job Description This role focuses on performing preventative and corrective maintenance on CNC machine tools and a variety of manufacturing equipment to keep production running safely and efficiently. You will use your knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, and electrical systems to troubleshoot issues, repair machinery, and support facility improvements in a large, modern manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on CNC machine tools, spinning lathes, ovens, overhead cranes, and various manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Ensure reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, and production machines. Troubleshoot and repair machinery, including complete tear down, identification and replacement of defective parts, reassembly, and readjustment to restore proper function. Fabricate and machine parts as needed to repair or upgrade machine tools, equipment, or facility systems, ensuring parts meet required specifications. Perform welding tasks as needed to support equipment repair, modification, or structural improvements within the facility. Read and interpret diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications to diagnose issues and determine appropriate repair methods. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, lubrication, and electrical issues on production equipment in a timely manner. Assist outside contractors during overhaul, repair, and installation of machine tools, facility improvements, and other special projects. Support production operations by responding to equipment issues, coordinating with machine operators, and ensuring machines return to service quickly and safely. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow established safety procedures while working on equipment and within the shop environment. Perform general shop helper and general labor tasks as needed to support maintenance and production activities. Operate production and shop equipment, such as grinders, washers, and other machines, in support of maintenance and manufacturing needs. Essential Skills At least 2+ years of CNC maintenance experience, including troubleshooting and repair of CNC machine tools. In-depth knowledge of hydraulics, including the ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic systems on production equipment. In-depth knowledge of pneumatics, including maintenance and repair of pneumatic tools and systems. In-depth knowledge of lubrication systems and best practices for maintaining motors, bearings, and moving components. Working knowledge of electricity as it applies to industrial machinery, including the ability to safely troubleshoot electrical-related issues within equipment. Ability to fabricate and machine parts as needed to repair or upgrade machine tools, equipment, or facility structures. Ability to perform welding tasks to support repairs and modifications on machinery and facility components. Proficiency in troubleshooting machinery, including complete tear down, replacement of defective parts, reassembly, and precise readjustments. Ability to read and follow diagrams, mechanical and electrical schematics, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. Experience working as a maintenance mechanic in a production or manufacturing environment. Capability to perform general shop helper, general labor, and machine operator tasks when required to support maintenance activities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with spinning lathes, ovens, overhead cranes, and other specialized manufacturing equipment. Background in operating or supporting grinding, washing, and other production processes in a shop environment. Previous experience in a large manufacturing facility, particularly in industries such as aerospace, defense, energy, or space systems. Comfort working closely with outside contractors on equipment overhauls, facility upgrades, and project-based work. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex mechanical and system issues under time constraints. Attention to detail when interpreting technical documentation and performing precision repairs or adjustments. Willingness to support multiple functions, including production, maintenance, and general shop tasks, as operational needs require. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a large manufacturing environment operating on a first-shift schedule. The facility includes CNC machine tools, spinning lathes, ovens, overhead cranes, grinders, washers, and other production machinery used in metal forming operations. Work takes place in a shop and production floor setting where you will frequently interact with machine operators, maintenance personnel, and external contractors. The environment supports manufacturing for advanced applications in aerospace, defense, energy, and space systems, and involves hands-on work with industrial equipment, tools, and machinery in a structured, safety-focused setting. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of New Berlin, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $85000.00/yr.Vacation Policy:
After 120-day probationary period, will receive 40 hours of vacation and 24 hours of personal time until next anniversary date. At anniversary, 80 hours of vacationOvertime:
