Job Description
Maintenance Technician - Tiny Homes Village Part-time | Oshkosh, WI | $22 per hour Job Overview Tiny Homes Village is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to help keep homes, common areas, and grounds safe, clean, and functional. This part-time role is ideal for someone with practical maintenance skills who can work independently, respond respectfully to residents, and support a housing environment built on stability, dignity, and community. What You Will Do
- Perform routine inspections of homes, common areas, walkways, parking areas, and grounds.
- Complete minor maintenance and repairs, such as basic plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, flooring, and appliance upkeep.
- Identify larger repair needs, report them to management, and help coordinate with vendors when needed.
- Maintain outdoor spaces, including litter pick-up and general groundskeeping.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely, respectful, and professional manner.
- Coordinate with staff to schedule repairs while minimizing disruption to residents.
- Support move-in and move-out processes, including unit inspections and repairs between residents.
- Help with routine site tasks such as collecting signatures, posting notices, and attending walkthroughs.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies, and report safety hazards promptly.
- Mentor individuals interested in learning handyman/repair skills (maximum of one mentee at a time).
- Follow applicable building codes, safety expectations, and THV policies. Required Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance, tools, and repair methods.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor in indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Comfort using mobile devices and cloud-based tools for task reporting, assignments, and documentation. Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in property maintenance, construction, facilities work, or a similar hands-on role.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed approaches and working respectfully with diverse populations.
- Experience working with low-income households, or lived experience as part of a low-income household within the past 10 years. Work Environment and Schedule
- This position includes both indoor and outdoor work and may involve dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Typical schedule is 20 hours per week, with occasional additional hours for urgent repairs, weather-related needs, or project work.
- Some evening or weekend availability may be needed for urgent maintenance issues. Compensation and Benefits
