Mechanical Maintenance Technician Location:
South Milwaukee, WI Pay:
$27- $35 per hourJob Type:
Full-Time | Hourly A leading manufacturing operation in Oak Creek is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support production equipment and facility operations. This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and performing preventive maintenance on industrial machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined technician who enjoys solving problems, working hands-on with equipment, and keeping production running safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on production equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on motors, conveyors, drives, gearboxes, and other machinery. Diagnose equipment malfunctions using test equipment and hand tools. Install, repair, and adjust industrial machinery to maintain optimal production performance. Troubleshoot PLC systems, drives, and control systems where applicable. Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders using CMMS software. Follow all safety policies and safe work practices at all times. Assist with fabrication, machining, and welding repairs when needed. Maintain clean and organized work areas. Work with production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability. Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, or manufacturing maintenance. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and mechanical drawings. Strong troubleshooting skills for industrial equipment. Ability to safely operate tools and maintenance equipment. Preferred Experience Experience working in corrugated, packaging, or heavy manufacturing environments.Knowledge of:
PLC troubleshooting AC/DC drives Hydraulics and pneumatics Steam and boiler systems Welding or machining Industrial automation Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy objects throughout the shift. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery, noise, and humidity. Ability to work from ladders, platforms, and elevated surfaces when necessary. Why Join the Team?
