Job Description

The Maintenance Technician I supports the maintenance, installation, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment. This role is ideal for someone looking to further develop their technical skills while working in a fast-paced industrial environment under experienced supervision. High school diploma or GED required Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial setting (may be waived based on experience) Strong commitment to safety and quality standards Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and at heights (stairs, ladders, elevated platforms) Ability to use hand tools and operate site equipment Preferred Qualifications MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) knowledge Forklift and warehouse experience Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance systems Strong teamwork and communication skills Basic math skills (fractions, geometry) Read and interpret blueprints, technical documents, electrical schematics, and ladder logic diagrams Perform and support mechanical repairs to improve plant processes and equipment reliability Troubleshoot, repair, and adjust production and safety equipment Complete preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with established procedures Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards, including LOTO/TO (LOTOTO), confined space, and company policies Maintain and repair plant equipment, ensuring work orders are completed on schedule Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to minimize production disruptions Assist with planning and installation of new equipment and capital projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets Accurately document completed work, system updates, and process improvements Perform welding and other hot work as needed Maintain inventory of critical spare parts Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned
