Qualifications Driver's License CNC Full Job Description Summary:
Responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery along with a variety of specialty assembly and test equipment. Work is performed routinely on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Technicians routinely use technical manuals, diagnostic tools, drawings and collaboration with outside technical support teams to perform duties. Where appropriate work may be performed on facility / miscellaneous equipment. Technicians work closely with the operations team to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
  • Preventative maintenance: Conducting regular inspections and servicing of CNC machines to prevent breakdowns, including cleaning, lubrication, and component checks.
  • Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and software issues on CNC machines.
  • Part replacement: Identifying and replacing worn or damaged machine components, including bearings, belts, linear guides, and ball screws.
  • Calibration and alignment: Ensuring machine accuracy by performing calibrations and alignments as needed.
  • Machine control systems: Understanding and troubleshooting CNC machine controllers (e.g., FANUC, Siemens) and related software.
  • Documentation and reporting: Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, including repair details, parts used, and machine downtime.
Safety:
Working in a safe manner, utilizing appropriate procedures related to lockout/tagout. Ensuring equipment is maintained in a safe condition for use by employees. Maintaining all designed safety features of equipment / programming and controlling release of safe equipment to production.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Mechanical aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including gears, bearings, and hydraulic systems.
  • Electrical knowledge: Familiarity with electrical circuits, motor controls, and troubleshooting electrical issues.
  • PLC programming skills : Ability to read and modify PLC logic for machine control systems.
  • Blueprint reading: Interpreting technical drawings and schematics to understand machine components and configurations.
  • Computer literacy: Proficiency in machine control interfaces and basic computer / internet functionality.
  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to diagnose complex machine faults and develop effective repair strategies.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to talk or hear.
