Job Requirements A Day in the Life of a Facilities Door Specialist The Facilities Door Specialist combines specialized expertise in the maintenance and installation of automatic door and access control systems as well as door hardware such as electric strikes, magnetic locks, electrified locks, and management of keying systems. This position will coordinate vendor and contractor functions and is responsible for ensuring all doors meet safety and regulatory requirements. Why Work at Cheyenne Regional? What You Will Be Doing:
Install, service, inspect, diagnose and repair automated door systems including sliding, swinging, revolving, and specialty doors, door operators, sensors, and electronic eye devices. Adjust and fine-tune door mechanisms to ensure proper operation, closure pressure, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), compliance, and life-safety functionality. Manage the enterprise keying system, including door number tracking and key type. Test and repair circuits, sensors, and electronic components of door hardware using appropriate diagnostic equipment and software tools. Perform on-site modifications to doors, frames, and hardware including drilling, cutting, and minor fabrication as required. Ensure all installations and repairs comply with applicable codes and standards including ADA, American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Underwriters Laboratory (UL), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), The Joint Commission (TJC), and local/state regulations. Coordinate and oversee vendor and contractor work to ensure compliance with specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements. Maintain accurate Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) documentation, work orders, system logs, and condition reports. Maintain inventory of supplies to ensure the facility is prepared for minor or planned installation and repairs. Perform life safety inspections on fire and smoke-related doors ensuring smoke barriers and corridor door compliance, perform or coordinates repairs, if necessary. Perform facility finishes repairs, including flooring, walls, paint, and sealant. Assists in performing preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems. Respond to facility emergencies, sometimes serving in a lead role. Support offsite facilities as required, providing elevated customer service and coordination.

Mechanical, electrical, electronic, and low-voltage systems troubleshooting skills Working knowledge of automated doors, access control systems, and life-safety interfaces Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and control diagrams Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) platforms, Microsoft Office, and mobile computing device skills Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation and customer interaction Knowledgeable with life safety code/NFPA 101, Environmental of Care and Joint commission requirements.
