Part-Time Maintenance Technician Converse County Aging Services -
Douglas & Glenrock, Wyoming Primary Work Locations:
Douglas Senior Center (340 1st St W, Douglas, WY 82633) and Glenrock Senior Center Converse County Aging Services is seeking a dependable, skilled, and proactive Part-Time Maintenance Technician to support safe, clean, and well-maintained facilities for older adults. This role is key to ensuring our senior centers remain welcoming, functional, and compliant with safety standards. Position Summary The Part-Time Maintenance Technician performs routine maintenance, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance for both senior center locations. This position requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting a team-oriented environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Stay Proactive Monitor facility systems, equipment, and utilities to ensure proper operation Identify maintenance needs early and address issues promptly Safety First Conduct routine checks on water temperatures, sprinkler system pressure, and general building safety Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and building standards Maintenance Support Perform general maintenance and repairs including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting Assist with facility upkeep to maintain a clean, safe, and functional environment Preventative Maintenance Coordination Schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance and service appointments with outside vendors Ensure minimal disruption to daily operations and programs Documentation and Inspections Conduct regular facility walk-throughs and document maintenance needs Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and completed work Vendor and Contractor Coordination Build and maintain professional working relationships with vendors and contractors Communicate clearly to ensure quality and timely completion of work Emergency Preparedness Assist with quarterly and annual testing of fire alarms and sprinkler systems Support emergency readiness and safety compliance efforts Task Prioritization Assess maintenance needs and prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact Respond quickly to critical issues Continuous Improvement Stay current on maintenance best practices, safety standards, and compliance requirements Recommend improvements to enhance facility operations Flexibility and Team Support Assist with additional duties as needed Support staff with event setup, seasonal tasks (snow removal, lawn care), and general facility needs Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Basic knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, and tools Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Good communication and customer service skills Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in facility maintenance, janitorial services, or building operations Experience working in senior centers, healthcare facilities, or public service environments Some Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical systems Experience coordinating with contractors or vendors Understanding of safety regulations and building compliance standards Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical tasks for extended periods Ability to safely operate tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Work Environment Work performed in both indoor and outdoor environments Exposure to maintenance-related conditions such as dust, noise, and temperature changes Part-time schedule with flexibility based on facility needs Required Certifications and Legal Requirements Valid Wyoming driver's license Acceptable driving record in accordance with agency and insurance standards Successful completion of background check Additional Expectations Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Respectful and professional interaction with older adults, staff, and visitors Team-oriented with a willingness to assist where needed Takes initiative and follows through on tasks Equal Opportunity Employer Statement Converse County Aging Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
