YOU WILL NEED TO PASS CRIME SHIELD AND A DRUG SCREEN. YOU WILL NEED A TRUCK OR VAN FOR THIS POSITION.
In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic and telecommunication cabling systems. Your expertise will ensure reliable network connectivity for our clients by performing precise fiber splicing, cable routing, and network setup. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in the field, utilizing your technical skills to deliver high-quality service and support the backbone of modern communication infrastructure. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and repair fiber optic cables and related telecommunication infrastructure in various field environments Perform fiber splicing with precision to ensure optimal signal transmission and minimal loss Set up and configure network equipment including Cisco routers, switches, and Ethernet components Conduct cable management, routing, and termination for both low voltage systems and high-speed data networks Use hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, and ohmmeters to test electrical continuity and signal integrity Follow safety protocols related to telecommunication work sites, including electrical safety procedures Document all installation activities, repairs, and maintenance tasks accurately in reports and logs Requirements Proven experience as a service technician or field technician in telecommunication or networking environments Strong knowledge of fiber splicing techniques and network installation processes Familiarity with Cisco routers, Ethernet wiring, telephony systems, and cabling standards Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools effectively for cable termination and splicing tasks Basic electrical experience including understanding of low voltage systems and the use of ohmmeters for testing continuity Ability to interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings related to telecommunication infrastructure Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting network issues Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for travel between job sites Preferred qualifications include experience working with telecommunication systems, Ethernet networking, low voltage cabling installations, mechanical knowledge of cable management hardware, as well as familiarity with electrical safety standards. Certification or hands-on experience with fiber splicing is highly valued. A background in telephony systems or general computer networking enhances your suitability for this role.
