Network Cabling Technician (1099 Contractor) Cableex LLC Phoenix, AZ Job Details Temp-to-hire | Full-time | Contract $28 - $32 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Network installation Attention to detail Telecommunication Low voltage Hand tools Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Network Cabling Technician (1099 Contractor) to support telecommunications and networking projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in fiber splicing, network installation, and working with Cisco routers. This role involves field service work, installing and maintaining low voltage cabling systems, and ensuring reliable telecommunication infrastructure. The position offers flexibility as an independent contractor with opportunities to work on diverse projects across various client sites. Duties Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables, including fiber splicing to ensure optimal signal transmission Perform network installations involving Ethernet, telephony, and other low voltage cabling systems Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers and switches to support network connectivity Use hand tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, and ohmmeters for cable preparation and testing Conduct field service tasks including site surveys, equipment setup, and system testing Maintain detailed documentation of cabling layouts, test results, and project progress Adhere to safety standards related to electrical and telecommunication work Assist with mechanical installations and ensure proper routing of cables within infrastructure environments Qualifications Proven experience in telecommunication or low voltage cabling projects with a focus on fiber splicing and network installation Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts, Ethernet wiring, telephony systems, and Cisco router configuration Hands-on experience with hand tools used in cabling and mechanical installation Familiarity with electrical systems, including the use of ohmmeters for testing continuity and resistance Service technician experience preferred, especially in field service roles involving telecommunication infrastructure Mechanical knowledge related to cable management and equipment mounting Ability to work independently in various environments with minimal supervision Valid certification or equivalent is a plus but not required Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in technical tasks This position is ideal for professionals seeking flexible contracting opportunities within the telecommunications industry. Pay:
