This role focuses on the physical layer — pulling cable, dressing racks, labeling, and verifying connectivity for network and low-voltage devices. The ideal candidate takes pride in clean work, understands network layouts, and can follow prints without constant supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Pull, run, and terminate Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cables. Install and label network drops, patch panels, jacks, and racks . Perform cable testing, tone-out, and certification to verify continuity and signal quality. Build and dress telecom closets (MDF/IDF) with proper cable management. Mount and connect network switches, access points, cameras, and access control panels . Read and follow blueprints, riser diagrams, and scope sheets . Maintain accurate as-built documentation and labeling consistency. Follow safety procedures , maintain a clean job site, and protect installed infrastructure. Work independently or with minimal supervision while maintaining high installation standards.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in low-voltage or structured cabling installation . Proficient in termination standards (TIA/EIA 568A/B) and fiber handling . Comfortable identifying and routing multiple cable types (Cat5e, Cat6, RG6, Fiber). Ability to read and interpret network or construction drawings . Familiarity with Fluke or similar testing equipment . Strong attention to detail — clean work and proper labeling required. Capable of lifting, bending, climbing ladders, and working in ceiling spaces. Reliable transportation and valid driver's license. Basic hand tools and a professional attitude. #IND1
