Denver, CO - must be open to heavy travel Pay rate: $32-38/HR Position Summary We are seeking a licensed Electrical Combo Technician to support overnight retail technology and infrastructure upgrade projects. This position combines the responsibilities of a Journeyman Electrician and a Low-Voltage/Data Cabling Technician , requiring expertise in electrical power systems, structured cabling, equipment installation, testing, and troubleshooting. The technician will work in active retail environments during overnight hours, replacing department equipment cabinets, reconnecting electrical and data infrastructure, and ensuring all systems are fully operational before the store reopens each morning. Projects are performed on a department-by-department basis, with crews typically completing one department per night before moving to the next location. Key Responsibilities Safely disconnect existing electrical power and low-voltage/data cabling from department equipment cabinets. Remove or assist with the replacement of existing cabinets and equipment infrastructure. Install and secure new cabinets according to project specifications and site requirements. Reconnect branch electrical circuits, devices, and associated equipment. Install, route, terminate, label, and test structured cabling systems, including copper and other low-voltage communication cabling. Perform cable terminations and ensure all connections meet applicable industry standards. Test, troubleshoot, and certify data cabling installations using approved testing equipment. Verify proper operation of connected devices, network equipment, and powered systems. Coordinate with project managers, store personnel, and other trades to ensure smooth overnight execution. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, test results, and any field issues encountered. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, electrical codes, and customer procedures. Ensure all systems are fully restored and operational before the store reopens for business. Required Qualifications Current Journeyman Electrician License (state-specific as required). Experience working with commercial electrical systems. Experience installing, terminating, and testing structured cabling systems. Working knowledge of low-voltage systems, network infrastructure, and telecommunications cabling. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, cabling diagrams, and project documentation. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communication and customer-service skills. Ability to travel to multiple project locations as required. Preferred Qualifications Experience in retail remodels, technology deployments, or overnight construction projects. BICSI certification or structured cabling certifications. Experience using cable certification and testing equipment (Fluke or equivalent). Knowledge of POS, network, and retail technology systems. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move equipment and materials up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work on ladders for extended periods. Ability to work overnight shifts in active commercial environments. Ability to perform detailed termination and testing work in confined spaces when necessary. Work Schedule Overnight shifts primarily performed while stores are closed. Typically one department completed per night. Travel between store locations required. Must be available for evening, overnight, and occasional weekend work based on project schedules.
