Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Cable Technician to join our team in Fort Myers, Florida. This contract-to-permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge commercial AV/IT systems, providing hands-on field experience and exposure to innovative technologies. The role includes leadership opportunities, direct collaboration with senior management, and career growth through training and diverse project exposure.
Responsibilities:
- Install and commission
Q- AV/IT
systems on-site, ensuring efficient and detail-oriented execution.- Interpret blueprints and schematics to perform precise low-voltage wiring and system setup.
- Troubleshoot, program, and provide ongoing support for AV/IT systems while managing field team coordination.
- Utilize expertise in Q- programming and installation, handling Level 1-2 tasks effectively.
- Work with advanced networking concepts such as IP configurations, VLANs, and DHCP.
- Perform installation and maintenance of fiber-optic and low-voltage cabling systems.
- Collaborate with the Director of Technology and other team members to ensure project success.
- Adhere to industry standards and safety regulations, including OSHA compliance.
- Provide support for AV systems involving Crestron, Extron, and AMX technologies.
- Maintain documentation and reports to track project progress and ensure system functionality. Requirements
- Proven experience in Q- programming and installation, particularly Level 1-2 tasks.
- Strong skills in low-voltage wiring and the ability to interpret technical blueprints and schematics.
- Familiarity with AV technologies such as Crestron, Extron, and AMX.
- Basic networking knowledge, including IP setups, VLAN configurations, and DHCP.
- Industry certifications such as 10 or /UL are a plus.
- Hands-on experience with fiber-optic and low-voltage cabling systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and regulations.
