Job Description

Overview A cable groundman assist linesworkers in the construction, maintenance, and repair of cable systems, performing tasks like digging, preparing the ground for cable installation, while also assisting with equipment operation and adhering to safety protocols.
Assisting Lineworkers:
Handing tools and materials to lineworkers. Assisting with the installation and maintenance of cables and related equipment. Pulling cable and fiber optic lines.
Equipment Operation:
Operating hand tools, power tools, and small equipment as needed. May operate equipment like roto hammers and jackhammers.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures. Maintaining a safe and organized worksite. Following instructions from supervisors and job site leads.
Other Duties:
Performing general cleanup at the job site. Assisting with emergency restoration services. Loading and unloading materials and equipment. May be involved in meter reads and disconnects. May be required to drive company vehicles.
Skills and Qualifications:
Physical Stamina:
The job requires a high level of physical strength and endurance, including lifting heavy objects, digging, and working in various weather conditions.
Safety Awareness:
A strong understanding of safety procedures and the ability to work safely in a potentially hazardous environment.
Basic Skills:
Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and perform basic manual tasks.
Communication Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members.
Driving Skills:
A valid driver's license may be required.
Experience:
Previous experience in construction or utility work. Other duties as assigned.
Job Type:
Contract Pay:
$140.00 - $150.00 per day
