Commercial Security & Fire Technician Territory:
Northwest Chicago Suburbs (approx. 30-mile service radius)
Comp:
$25/hour+ (higher rates pending experience and certifications). Overtime opportunity at time & a half. The Company We are representing a Midwest-based security integrator currently executing a major expansion plan across the region. Unlike massive corporate conglomerates, this team operates with a "high-accountability" culture—meaning technicians are trusted to make decisions in the field without micromanagement. They focus exclusively on commercial sectors (Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Property Management), avoiding residential work to focus on complex, technical deployments. The Role This is a field-based technical role focused on the physical installation and programming of integrated life safety systems. You will be the "boots on the ground" ensuring systems are brought online efficiently and to code.
Primary Focus:
Turnkey installation of Video Surveillance, Access Control, and Fire Alarm systems.
Commercial Execution:
Running low-voltage cable, conduit work, mounting devices at height, and panel termination.
System Standards:
Ensuring all hardware is installed to manufacturer specifications and
NFPA/NEC
standards.
Inventory Management:
managing truck stock and accurately logging parts usage for project tracking. Technical Environment The ideal candidate has hands-on proficiency with a mix of the following (or similar) platforms:
Video & Access:
Verkada (High Priority), Digital Watchdog, AiPhone.
Intrusion/Panel:
DMP (Digital Monitoring Products).
Fire:
Kidde, Notifier.
Candidate Requirements Experience:
1-3+ years in low-voltage installation.
Note:
We are specifically seeking experience in Commercial/Industrial environments.
Certifications:
NICET Level 1 (Fire) is a significant advantage. OSHA 10/30 and Aerial Lift certifications are preferred.
Tech Savvy:
Comfortable using iPads/Tablets for field reporting and digital manuals.
Schedule:
Standard M-F, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM. Must be open to a service on-call rotation (approx. 1 week every 6-8 weeks).
Compensation & Perks Take-Home Potential:
Guaranteed overtime availability (~4-5 hours/week typical).
Mobility:
Company fleet vehicle assigned following the completion of the probationary period (approx. 90 days); Fuel card provided immediately.
