This role focuses on the installation and setup of video security cameras, access control systems, IP cameras, door readers, credentials, controllers, low-voltage cabling, video management equipment, and related Motorola Solutions / Avigilon technology at customer sites. This is an installation-focused role for someone who takes pride in clean work, accurate setup, and being part of a skilled field team. The technician will help pull and route cable, mount and wire devices, configure and test systems, document work, and support customers in commercial, public safety, government, healthcare, education, and related environments. The right candidate has hands-on experience with video security, access control, low-voltage installation, CCTV/IP cameras, security systems, or similar field-based technical work. What You'll Do Install video security cameras, IP cameras, access control systems, door readers, controllers, and related Motorola Solutions / Avigilon technology Pull, route, label, terminate, and manage low-voltage cabling at customer sites Mount, wire, configure, and test cameras, card readers, door hardware, access control panels, recorders, appliances, and cloud-connected devices Read and follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams, floor plans, and project documentation Troubleshoot installation issues related to wiring, connectivity, device placement, or system setup Maintain accurate installation records, including wiring details, configurations, and system settings Work professionally with customers, project managers, and other technicians to complete quality installations Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area What We're Looking For 1+ years of experience in security system installation, low-voltage installation, video security, access control, CCTV, IP cameras, or similar field work required Experience pulling, routing, terminating, and testing low-voltage cable required Experience installing video security cameras, card readers, door hardware, access control panels, or related security equipment preferred Basic understanding of network-connected security systems, including IP cameras, preferred Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, or floor plans Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail Dependable, safety-minded, and willing to work as part of a field installation team Professional communication skills and comfort working at customer sites High school diploma or equivalent required Relevant certifications in low voltage, access control, video security, CCTV, or manufacturer-specific systems are a plus Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, carry, climb, and work throughout the shift Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to work on ladders or lifts when trained and authorized Ability to work at customer sites, including commercial, public safety, government, education, and healthcare environments Conditions of Employment Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required pre-employment screening, including a background check and drug screen Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid holidays and paid time off Short-term and long-term disability Company-provided tools and uniforms Use of a company vehicle for field and customer site travel Company-paid fees for most professional certifications About ERS Wireless ERS Wireless is a third-generation, family-owned telecommunications company with more than 75 years of experience.
