- Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems, including but not limited to security systems, audio/ video systems, telecommunications, data networking, and fire alarm systems across various facilities. Your expertise will ensure seamless operation of critical communication, security, and data infrastructure, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our clients' environments. Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including security cameras, alarm systems, home automation, structured cabling, and access control systems Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations and repairs Perform fiber splicing, network wiring (Cat5, Cat6), and cable management in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, network analyzers, and RF testers to identify issues and ensure system integrity Maintain accurate records of work performed, including installation logs, service reports, and maintenance schedules Provide customer support and training on system operation and troubleshooting Ensure all work complies with safety standards and electrical codes while maintaining high-quality workmanship Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure timely and efficient project completion. Assist with Inventory management and procurement of necessary tools, materials, and equipment. Stay updated on industry trends and technologies, recommending improvements to exiting systems when appropriate.
Qualifications:
3 years of proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or Service Technician working with security, telecom, audio/video, fire alarm, ect Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN setup, Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), and network wiring practices Hands-on experience with CCTV installation, fiber splicing, RF testing, and telecommunication infrastructure Familiarity with electrical systems (AC/DC), schematics reading, and the use of hand tools and power tools for installation and repair tasks Prior experience working with NEC standards and electrical safety protocols in low voltage environments Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members Ability to diagnose issues efficiently using diagnostic tools while maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs. Ability to work in confined spaces and on ladders or scaffolding. Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor weather
