Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fiber Technician to join our dynamic field service team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunication and networking systems, ensuring seamless connectivity for our clients. Your expertise will help deliver reliable fiber optic and copper cabling solutions, supporting vital communication infrastructure. Responsibilities Install, test, and repair telecommunication cables including fiber optic, Ethernet, and low voltage wiring across various sites. Perform fiber splicing to connect and maintain high-speed fiber optic networks with precision and care. Set up and configure network equipment such as Cisco routers, switches, and telephony systems to ensure optimal performance. Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to assemble, route, and secure cabling infrastructure according to industry standards. Conduct network installation activities including cable routing, termination, testing with ohmmeters, and troubleshooting electrical issues. Perform routine maintenance checks on telecommunication systems and document all work performed accurately. Collaborate with clients and team members to diagnose issues quickly and implement effective solutions in the field. Experience Prior experience as a service technician or in a similar field service role involving telecommunication or electrical systems. Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, network installation, Ethernet cabling, and low voltage wiring. Familiarity with Cisco routers, switches, and basic computer networking concepts. Mechanical aptitude combined with knowledge of telecommunication infrastructure standards. Proficiency using hand tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, and ohmmeters for testing electrical continuity. Strong understanding of telephony systems and Ethernet cabling installation techniques. Electrical experience or background working with low voltage systems is highly desirable.
