Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in equipment repair and computer networking, with a focus on cabling and VoIP systems. This role requires hands-on experience with power tools and electrical systems, as well as proficiency in Ethernet and Cat6 installations. The Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is functioning optimally and providing technical support to our clients. You will be responsible for traveling to residential and commercial sites to install, maintain, and repair cable infrastructure, including television, internet, and fiber-optic systems. The goal is to ensure high-quality connectivity while providing excellent customer service.
Location:
Albuquerque, NM Pay Range:
$24 - $27 Duties Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of various equipment and systems. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to computer networking, including Ethernet and VoIP systems. Utilize power tools effectively for cabling tasks, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Conduct testing of electrical components using an ohmmeter to ensure proper functionality. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and within deadlines. Maintain accurate records of repairs, installations, and service requests. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly. •
Installations:
Run, connect, and terminate data and voice cables (CAT5/CAT6, Coaxial, Fiber Optic) in homes and businesses. •
Equipment Setup:
Install and configure modems, routers, cable boxes, and smart home devices. •
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and repair cable infrastructure, including identifying weak signals and replacing faulty equipment. •
Infrastructure Work:
Climb poles, work in tight spaces (attics/crawl spaces), and dig/lay ground cable. •
Customer Service:
Explain service setups to customers, answer questions, and ensure complete functionality before leaving the site. •
Documentation & Safety:
Complete work orders/timesheets, maintain inventory, and adhere to all safety regulations (OSHA). Experience Proven experience in equipment repair, particularly in networking environments. Familiarity with cabling standards, including Cat6 installations. Hands-on experience with power tools and electrical systems is essential. Knowledge of Avaya systems is a plus. Strong understanding of computer networking principles and practices. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
