This pivotal role involves leading a team of technicians to deliver high-quality network and telecommunication systems, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in low voltage wiring, fiber optics, and computer networking, combined with excellent customer service skills to support client needs effectively. Join us to lead innovative cabling projects that empower organizations with reliable communication solutions! Responsibilities Lead and coordinate the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems including Ethernet (Cat5, Cat6), fiber optic splicing, and telecommunication wiring in accordance with industry standards such as NEC. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute network and cable layouts. Oversee field service activities related to network installation, equipment repair, and system upgrades in data centers or enterprise environments. Ensure compliance with safety protocols while using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment like ohmmeters for testing continuity and signal integrity. Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, providing expert guidance on cabling solutions for LAN (Local Area Network), VoIP telephony systems (including Avaya), Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and other networking hardware. Maintain detailed documentation of cabling infrastructure, including schematics, test results, and service reports for future reference and audits. Supervise team members to uphold quality standards while fostering a safety-conscious work environment. Experience Proven experience as a service technician or lead in structured cabling projects within telecommunications or data center environments. Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet wiring standards (Cat5e, Cat6), low voltage wiring practices, LAN setup, and telephony systems such as VoIP and traditional telephony. Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and troubleshooting fiber optic networks. Familiarity with electrical codes such as NEC regulations governing low voltage wiring installations. Strong background in using hand tools and power tools safely for cable routing, termination, and equipment installation. Prior work involving CCTV systems, network equipment repair, or electrical system maintenance is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members alike.
