Telecommunication Hand tools Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of low voltage systems across various commercial and residential environments. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of critical communication, security, and data systems, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our clients' facilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while providing exceptional service to our customers. Duties Install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including CCTV, fiber optic cabling, Ethernet networks, VoIP telephony, and access control systems Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately complete installations and repairs Perform fiber splicing and cable management for high-speed data transmission infrastructure Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and power tools to ensure system integrity and safety Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including system configurations, test results, and service reports Skills Extensive knowledge of telecommunication systems including cabling standards such as Cat6, and related wiring practices Proficiency in computer networking concepts like LAN (Local Area Network), VLANs, and network security protocols Hands-on experience with CCTV installation, access control, alarm systems, fiber splicing, and equipment repair Familiarity with electrical codes such as NEC (National Electrical Code) to ensure compliant installations Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients Ability to use hand tools effectively for cabling and hardware installation or repair tasks
Preferred Certifications:
OSHA 10/30 BICSI
