Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cable Puller to join our dynamic telecommunications and network installation team. In this role, you will be responsible for pulling, installing, and maintaining various types of cabling systems, including Ethernet, fiber optic, and low-voltage wiring. Your expertise will ensure the seamless setup of network infrastructure for diverse clients, supporting everything from data centers to commercial buildings. Responsibilities Pull and install various cabling types such as Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and low-voltage wiring according to schematics and technical specifications. Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to prepare pathways, conduit, trays, and cable runs. Assist with the termination, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of network cables including Ethernet, fiber optics, VoIP systems, and telephony equipment. Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate installation aligned with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Conduct cable testing using ohmmeters, network testers, and other diagnostic tools to verify integrity and performance. Support network installation projects involving Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, Avaya systems, and other telecommunication hardware. Maintain detailed documentation of cable runs, test results, and installation procedures for quality assurance and future reference. Collaborate with field service teams to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards. Experience Proven experience as a service technician or cable puller in telecommunications or networking environments. Familiarity with computer networking concepts including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet standards (Cat5/Cat6), and low-voltage electrical wiring. Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and equipment repair is highly desirable. Knowledge of schematics, electrical codes (NEC), and safety procedures related to telecommunication installations. Ability to operate power tools such as drills, wire strippers, crimpers, conduit benders, and power saws safely. Experience working in data centers or large-scale network environments is a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. Technical familiarity with Cisco routers, Juniper networking gear, Avaya telephony systems, VoIP solutions, computer hardware troubleshooting, and IT infrastructure support is advantageous.
