Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Cable Technician to join our team and drive the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunication and network systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in the field, applying technical expertise to ensure reliable connectivity for our clients. As a Cable Technician, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality service by installing and repairing fiber optic cables, Ethernet networks, telephony systems, and low voltage wiring. Your hands-on skills and mechanical knowledge will help keep communication infrastructure running smoothly and efficiently. Duties Install, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables, ensuring proper splicing and connectivity for high-speed data transmission Set up and configure network equipment including Cisco routers, switches, and other telecommunication devices Perform network installation tasks such as cabling, wiring, and connecting Ethernet and telephony systems in various environments Use hand tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing devices to diagnose issues with low voltage systems and electrical components Conduct field service activities by inspecting existing cabling infrastructure, performing repairs, and upgrading systems as needed Follow safety protocols related to electrical work and low voltage wiring to maintain a secure work environment Document all installation activities, system configurations, and repairs accurately for record-keeping and future reference Requirements Proven experience as a service technician or cable technician working in telecommunication or networking fields Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to handle hand tools effectively Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and network installation procedures Familiarity with Cisco routers, Ethernet cabling standards, telephony systems, and low voltage wiring practices Knowledge of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP protocols and network troubleshooting methods Ability to read technical diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings related to cabling infrastructure Electrical experience or certification is highly desirable for handling electrical components safely Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail during system diagnostics and repairs Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for field service travel Join us as a Cable Technician if you're passionate about technology, eager to develop your skills in telecommunications infrastructure, and ready to make an impact through reliable connectivity solutions!
