Position Summary The Concrete Inspector is responsible for performing field inspections and testing of concrete materials on transportation and heavy civil construction projects. This role ensures all materials and construction activities comply with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Travel to active construction sites throughout the assigned territory within 1.5 h of base Observe and inspect concrete placement operations Perform field testing including slump, air content, temperature, and unit weight testing Collect and prepare concrete samples for laboratory testing Verify contractor compliance with project specifications and industry standards Complete inspection reports, test results, and daily field documentation Communicate findings with contractors, project managers, engineers, and field personnel Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper calibration Follow all company safety policies and jobsite safety requirements RequirementsRequired Certifications ACI Concrete Field Testing Certification NECEPT Concrete Certification Desired Experience Previous experience in construction materials testing or inspection Experience working on transportation, roadway, bridge, or heavy civil projects Strong understanding of concrete testing procedures and quality standards Additional Qualifications Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Strong attention to detail and documentation skills Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to work independently in a field environment Join a team that values quality, safety, and professional growth while providing the tools and support needed to succeed in the field.
