In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining low voltage systems across various commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will ensure reliable network connectivity, security systems, telecommunication infrastructure, and data cabling are installed to the highest standards. Duties Install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage wiring systems including Ethernet, Cat5, Cat6 cabling, CCTV cameras, VoIP telephony, and fiber optic splicing. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately complete installations. Perform network installation tasks such as configuring firewalls, network switches, wireless access points, video surveillance, and business telephone systems to ensure seamless communication networks. Conduct fiber splicing and termination to establish high-speed data connections in data centers or enterprise environments. Use hand tools and power tools to run cabling through walls, ceilings, and conduits while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and safety protocols. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients during installations or service calls and ensuring their needs are met efficiently. Skills Strong knowledge of telecommunication systems including VoIP, telephony wiring, and LAN (Local Area Network) setups. Experience with CCTV installation, fiber splicing, and network equipment configuration Proficiency in reading schematics and wiring diagrams for complex low voltage systems. Familiarity with computer networking concepts including Ethernet standards (Cat5/Cat6), network switches, and data center environments. Ability to operate hand tools (e.g., crimpers, wire strippers) and power tools safely and effectively. Knowledge of electrical codes such as NEC regulations related to low voltage wiring installations. Service technician experience in troubleshooting and repairing telecommunication or IT equipment is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Experience working with Avaya systems, Power over Ethernet (PoE), LAN/WAN configurations, and telephony infrastructure. Strong problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to safety and quality standards.
